Richmond & York River

This road connected Richmond to steamboats at West Point, Virginia on the York River. It commenced operations to West Point in August, 1860.

It was on this road that the first use of railway artillery in history was made. Confederates used such on June 29 and 30, 1862 at Savage's Station.
