Sir, |
Since the resignation of Major
Ashe, late a Quarter Master C. S. A. and in charge of Rail Road
transportation for the army Capt Morfit, his assistant, has been in the
discharge of the duties of the said office, and I take pleasure in
bearing testimony to his ability, fidelity and energy with which he has
executed the trust confided to him. |
As the immediate Agent,
through whom our transactions with Government have been principally
conducted since the resignation of Major Ashe, we have uniformly found
him, while diligent and faithful in protecting the interest of this
Government, yet reasonable and accommodating in his demands upon this
Company, and it has therefore been a pleasure to transact business with
him. Under these circumstances, we should be pleased to learn that the
Captn has received the favorable consideration of your Department. |
Very Respectfully your |
Obdt Sevt |
