The enclosed vouchers for
transportation furnished troops by the {Richmond
&} York river Rail Road Company, were received on the 31st ultimo
from Major Larkin Smith, for reference to 2d Auditor, as will be seen by
his endorsement on the envelope. A part of the vouchers appear to be for
the transportation of troops in the service of the State of N. Carolina
consequently are not chargeable to the Confederate States, the remainder
appear to be of a similar class of vouchers presented by different Rail
road Companies for the transportation of Confederate States troops, and
heretofore submitted to the accounting officer. |
