| Endorsement on letter of Major I.
M. StJohn Chf of Nitre and Mining Bureau dates Richmond April 16th '63
stating that the iron from the {Richmond &}
York River R. Rd. had arrived and is being carried to the Danville Depot
recommends that an Engineer officer be instructed to receive it and
re-ship it to Danville. |
| "Respectfully referred to Colonel W. N.
Stevens, Engineer &c with the request that he will at once assign an
Engineer officer to the duty of receiving and keeping an account of the
iron that is now being hauled to the {Richmond &}
Danville R. Rd. Depot from the York River R. Rd. and of making
all the necessary arrangements to ship the same to Danville. This
officer will also procure additional wagons if possible to aid in
delivering the iron at the Danville Depot." |
