Manassas Gap RR Locomotive #3 was hauled through Richmond and put on this road in April. Chickahominy was the Union Speedwell, captured from McClelland's retreating army in 1862. Atlantic was sold to Richmond & Petersburg RR in 1862, but was rented to the Government for most of the year(!?). Baltimore & Ohio RR No. 3 {No. 34?} was put on the road in April. York was rented to the Government with Atlantic. November 25, Road requested to keep Spark on the road. | |||||||

August 30 telegram from the Wilmington & Weldon RR says that they have purchased a Richmond-made locomotive from the Richmond & York River RR. This would have to be the Atlantic. | |||||||

Chickahominy leased to the Piedmont RR in June. York River and Pamunkey were leased to CS Government and State of Virginia to operate between Richmond and Danville or Richmond and Weldon on government business. | |||||||
