| In ten days from this date, I
can have the trains of this Company run through to White House
provided I have satisfactory assurances that upon the new section of
the Bridge ??ing the time a Sufficient Military force will be placed
in such a position as to afford protection from the inroads of the
enemy and to prevent our army from destroying them unnecessarily. Also
that the Pamunky & Mattaponi Rivers shall be kept clear
of the enemys gun boats, so as allow the transportation of supplies
from the Counties lying beyond the Pamunky to the White House. |
