Eugene Carrington was born in
Richmond March 1, 1840. He was educated in the Episcopal High
School, near Alexandria, Va. He married Cora Dimmock about 1858 and
they had one child, son Walter, born in Maryland. In the spring of
1859, Eugene applied for a passport for himself and his wife; he was
described as 5' 7", blue eyes, light brown hair and dark complexion.
Before the war, he owned a wood yard in Richmond and had taxable
real estate of $40,000. He died December
