In reply to the above letter (AR, R&G 4-20-63),
addressed to the Superintendent of the N. C. R. R. {North
Carolina RR}, and the accompanying communications from W. C.
& R. R. R. {Wilmington, Charlotte &
Rutherford} and the W. N. C. {Western
North Carolina} R. R., I assent to all the requests, and give
all the pledges herein asked, upon condition that the passenger trains
of the North Carolina Rail Road shall not be arrested for Government
transportation, except on the certificate of the Governor of North
Carolina, or of the Secretary of War, that the same are necessary. |
