Southern Pacific

The road was to meet the Vicksburg, Shreveport & Texas RR at the Texas state line. When the war started, the road was running from Caddo Lake (where steamboats could land railroad construction materials) to Marshall. During the war, the Government required that section to be removed and relaid in an attempt to reach Shreveport from Marshall.
