In March, Locomotives #2 and #8 were being run by a Government engineer on the Orange & Alexandria RR; in April, #2 was rented to the North Carolina Railroad. Locomotive #1 was rented to the same road earlier. Locomotive #3 was hauled through Richmond to the Richmond & York River RR in April. Locomotives #4, 7 & 9 were rented to the CS Government from June through October. Locomotives #5 and 6 were stranded on the western end of the road when the Union captured the eastern end and were destroyed there. | |||||||

The Richmond & Petersburg RR lists Numbers 1-3 as being hired from the Manassas Gap RR during the past year (one in April, one in August, and one not noted). In March, the Raleigh & Gaston RR made and installed a new cab for #4. In November, # 3 had been purchased by the Government and was to be retained to haul coal; a second document makes it clear it was purchased in February of 1864. | |||||||

Purchased 5 locomotives from CS Government on February 4; sold Locomotive #3 to the Government on that date and it ended up on the Piedmont RR. Sold a boiler to the Government for use in the steamer Flora in Wilmington. August -- leased 4 locomotives to Piedmont RR and stated in March that 2 would be provided to the CS Navy Yard in Charlotte as soon as the order arrived | |||||||
