| In pursuance of an order of the Board of
Public Works calling a meeting of the stockholders of the Norfolk &
Petersburg Rail Road Company at this place, the meeting was organized by
the appointment of R. J. Collier Esq President |
| & J. C. Shugg Esq Secretary |
| |
| The State being represented by her
alternate proxies, Messrs J. J. Kindred, Geo Blow Jr, & J H Claiborne --
the meeting was considered legally constituted |
| |
| On motion, it was resolved: |
| That this meeting adjourn to
meet again in this city on Tuesday the 3rd day of February next and to
enable the Proxies on the part of the City of Norfolk to be present; the
Secretary will inform them if possible of said adjourned meeting. |

| Resolved: That the officers of this Company
are requested to continue in their present positions until our next
meeting. |
