To His Excellency Joseph E. Brown |
|
Dear Sir, |
I would respectfully appeal to
you, in behalf of the poor and destitute of my County (DeKalb) that,
if it is possible for you to render us any assistance, it will be gratefully
appreciated. I was instructed by the authority of the Inferior Court
of my County, and did accordingly buy, for the use of the destitute
2000 Bushels of Corn {8 car loads}, which
I obligated myself to furnish at actual cost. Before I made the
purchase I was informed by Dr. Phillips {Superintendent,
Western & Atlantic RR}, that -- Cars
would be furnished for its shipment.-- |
I was in Albany last week and
was informed that the Macon & Western Rail Road Co. refuse to
grant the privilege of the Road for cars on {of?}
West. & Atlantic Rail Road to run over their Road. Dr.
Phillips advises me to make this statement to your Excellency, and
respectfully ask your assistance and co-operation in the matter, with
these assurances I am |
Very Truly & Respectfully |
Your Obedient Servant |
G. P. Bradley |
