Dear Sir, |
When I was in Milledgeville I
promised to write to you occasionally as to how we was getting along,
but I have been very busy since I arrived here, I have made myself
generally useful to the Road, Such as running Locomotives acting as
Conductor Greasing the cars working in any capacity that I could be of
use to the Road. I am now confined at the Depot all the time & the
trains do not arrive until 12 or 4 o'clock in the morning which makes
it pretty hard sometimes but I am willing to stand up to it. Capt
Davenport told me this morning that he spoke to you about getting some
one to come here in my place in the morning. Well Governor there is no
earthly use of that I am here every morning at 6 o'clock & always
have the train ready to leave on its time 7 1/2 oclock as far as
concerns my department it is alright. I do hope that you can come down
soon I have a great deal to say to you. although I am placed in a subordinate
position I know when my Superiors are not doing their duty. I
shall be pleased to hear from you. |
I am with much Respect |
Your Obt Sevt |
