To His Excellency |
Governor Joseph E. Brown |
|
Governor, |
Mr. Haselehurst informs me
that since the 16th ulto: circumstances have occurred which will
prevent him from serving me as Treasurer, but that his son will serve,
and that he has recommended him to you. |
I have known Mr William
Haslehurst for seven years. He served under me on this Rail Road as
Station Agent at this place. He is fully competent as an accountant to
act as Treasurer and Auditor, and will have the advantage of the
advice of his father. Mr. Robert Haslehurst will do all in his powers
to aid him if required, and you will have his services, should you
appoint his son, to the same exlence as though he had been
Treasurer. |
I have the honor to be |
Your Excellencies Obedient Servant |
Charles L. Schlatter {Superintendent,
Brunswick & Florida RR} |
