Memorandum of an Agreement between the
Southern {of Mississippi} Rail Road
Company by M Emanuel Vice President and the Memphis & Ohio Rail
Road Company by S. B. Jones Genl. Supt. whereby it is covenanted &
agreed as follows |
The Memphis & Ohio R. R. Co. agree to
lease to the Southern R. R. Co. four first class Engines designated as
follows "Jas. P. Wood" "D. B. Molloy" "F
Titus" & "Thos Shephard" for service upon
said Southern R. R. |
Said engines to be delivered to said
Southern Rail Road Co upon the order of the Mast Machinist &
Superintendent or Vice President. |
For use of said engines the Southern Rail
Road Co agree to pay monthly to said Memphis & Ohio R. R. Co. the
sum of fifteen dollars pr day for Each Engine. the pay to be suspended
during such time as said Engines may be laid up for repairs. |
The Engines to be returned to the order of
the Pres't or Gen'l Supt of said Memphis & Ohio R. R. Co in good
order & some condition as when received except the ordinary wear
& tear. |
In witness wherof we have thereunto set our hands &
seal this 15th day of December 1862 |
