Memorandum of an agreement between the
Southern {of Mississippi} Rail Road
Company by M Emanuel Vice President and the Memphis & Ohio Rail
Road by S. B. Jones Genl. Supt. whereby it is covenanted and agreed as
follows |
The Memphis & Ohio Rail Road Company
agrees to lease to the Southern Rail Road Company two first class
freight engines to be designated by said Jones for service upon said
Southern Rail Road. |
Said engines to be delivered to said
Southern Rail Road upon the written application of the Vice President
or Superintendent. |
For the use of said Engines, the Southern
Rail Road agrees to pay to the Memphis & Ohio Rail Road Company
the sum of fifteen dollars per diem for each engine. The pay to be
suspended during such time as said engines may be laid up for repairs
and the engines are to be returned in as good order as when received.
Except the ordinary wear and tear. |
For which whereof we have herewith set our
hand and seal this 24th day of November AD 1862. |
Engines to be furnished are the "G. T.
Taylor" and "A. Woodruff" |
