Mt Dear Jones |
Your very kind and acceptable letter of
the 12th September did not reach me until a few days ago. I would have
been very glad to have ??? you by Mr Williams who brought yours
through. If I had here known when he returned. You say that you wrote
me in July that letter I never have received This is the only one recd
from you since I saw you I was truly glad to hear from you and was
pleased at all your suggestions in regard to the business with which
you are intrusted with. I know that you will do all for the best it is
not expected that you could possibly have all things just as you would
like under the circumstances therefore do the best that you can. defer
the collections from the Companies using the stock as long as you can
and with what means coming into your hands discharge as far as you can
the liabilities of this Co. of course that is the best and only way to
disburse the funds. You say that you would like to be relieved of your
present responsibility. You must not think of such a thing. You must
hold on I would come down but my health is not sufficient. I have not
been from home since I saw you. If this great war is not soon over I
do not know what will become of me. I am willing to do anything that
is possible for you as I never shall forget you and your valuable
efforts in our behalf. |
