Yours of the 19th and 22nd is
on hand and contents noted. Enclosed you will please find receipt for
200 Bags. I shall proceed immediately to post the Circular in regard
to tax in Kind in the District. |
Will it not be necessary to rent some
place here, in which to store the Tax in Kind? The Laurens R. Road
will cease running this week, the Government having taken possession,
the track will be torn up and the iron removed to some place, where it
is more needed. Mr. J. J. Davis will therefore have to transport all
stores collected in Laurens by Wagons and I suppose Newberry will be
the point to which they will be hauled. |
