Sir, |
I herewith enclose to you the papers relating to the schooner F.

Captain Goldsborough, of the U. S. S. Union, in an inlet on
the coast of North Carolina. Cargo, railroad iron.

Flag Officer, Commanding West India Squadron |
Previously to this (on the 3d June) we had
pursued a schooner beating across the month of York River from Poquosin
Flat, which, upon coming up with, and ordering the skipper with his
papers on board, proved to be the prize F. W. Johnson (loaded
with railroad iron), and sent by you to Baltimore under the command of
Mr. Chisholm. |
