the following resolution passed by the directors of the Mississippi
& Tennessee Railroad Company. |

Memphis, March 1, 1861 |
At a meeting of the Board of Directors
of the Mississippi and Tennessee Railroad Company, held at this
office on this day, the following resolution was unanimously
adopted: |
Resolved
by the president and directors of the Mississippi & Tennessee
Railroad Company, That we
tender to the Government of the Confederate States of America and to
the State of Mississippi, free of charge, the use of the Mississippi
& Tennessee Railroad for military purposes; and the secretary of
the company is hereby ordered to furnish a copy of this resolution
to the Governor of the State of Mississippi and to the Secretary of
War of the Confederate States of America. |
I, C. F. Vance, secretary of the
Mississippi & Tennessee Railroad Company, hereby certify that
the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Board of
Directors of said company on said 1st of March, 1861. |
