Please notify Colonel Walton
that none of the horses belonging to the artillery battalions of
Longstreet's corps are to be sent by railroad west, and that none of
the battalions with the exception of Alexander's will be sent west
until further orders. The horses of Alexander's battalion will be
retained here. Please communicate this to Colonel Walton without
delay.
