| Seven hundred Yankee cavalry struck
Mobile & Great Northern Railroad at Escambia at 8 o'clock yesterday
morning, and were opposite Pollard at 9 a. m. This I learn by
special messenger sent yesterday after the wires ceased. Will hasten
in that direction all troops in reach. I have difficulty about arms
and ammunition. |
