Thirteen hundred troops will
leave Augusta
this evening for Savannah {on the South
Carolina RR}; 1,000 will leave here this evening for
Savannah {probably on the Charleston &
Savannah RR}, and 1,200 more will follow as soon as transportation can be had. I
will come to Savannah
by first train.

I have telegraphed
superintendent of Charleston & Savannah Railroad for trains to
transport 1,200 troops from Coosawhatchie and Grahamville to Savannah
immediately. See to it. |
