General,
  The following telegram was sent you to-day by the major-general commanding:
  Give all necessary aid to Major Meriwether to enable him to secure the iron of the Fernandina and Cedar Keys Railroad {the Florida Railroad}, for the completion of connection between Georgia and Florida road {the Pensacola & Georgia Railroad and the Atlantic & Gulf Railroad} with all possible dispatch. Nothing must prevent the taking of this iron.
