| I have ordered all the railroads in
Mississippi east of Pearl River injured by the enemy repaired
immediately, and ask your co-operation in impressing all the
property necessary to accomplish it. I have given the requisite
authority to Maj. George Whitfield, of the quartermaster's
department, and want 300 negroes with axes, spades, and shovels
about Shubuta. |
