Major-General Loring |
Jackson |
|
The quartermaster has engaged railroad
transportation for 5,500 men, the trains to be near Jackson
at daybreak. Bring up about that number from your division, with
ammunition and cooking implements; no knapsacks. Two or three wagons
to be started at the earliest hour by the road. Provisions can be
had here. Cars {on the New Orleans, Jackson
& Great Northern RR} for 1,500 men will return from here. |
