Accident |
The passenger car of the
King's Mountain Rail Road got off the track about two hundred yards
below the Depot on Saturday morning last, at 2 o'clock, while
returning with a party attending the Tableaux for the soldiers in
Chester. It overset, and thus became detached from the other cars, or
most serious consequences must have resulted. |
As it
is, one young lady was seriously hurt by the dislocation of a limb,
and several others, besides men and boys, were bruised more or less.
This is the first accident we have had to record on this road, where a
passenger has suffered injury, and we hope the last. The cause we have
not ascertained, but we learn that the steam was being let off at the
time. |
