Accident |
We learn that three cars of
wounded soldiers, of the passenger train on the Wilmington &
Manchester Railroad, were thrown down an embankment fifteen feet high,
on Thursday evening. A Captain had one of his arms broken in two
places, and many were severely bruised. They were cared for by Dr.
Mackenzie, the Surgeon just placed in charge at Kingsville. Upon the
report reaching Columbia, several of the ladies of our Wayside
Hospital Association and two physicians immediately went down to offer
assistance, and carry refreshments, which were found very timely. |
