Almost a Serious Accident |
We learn that on yesterday
afternoon a freight train on the Wilmington & Weldon Rail Road ran over
a cow just beyond Goshen bridge, some 62 miles north of this place, when
the Locomotive and tender were thrown from the track, tearing up the
track for some distance before the Engine could be stopped. The Engine,
tender and several cars were thrown off Goshen bridge down a precipice
some 25 or 30 feet but, strange to say, no one was injured. |
In consequence of the
obstruction at Goshen, the Mail train due here this morning at 5 o'clock
did not arrive until about half-past 8 o'clock. |
