At present writing (Wednesday
noon) we are without any Northern mail. It is reported that there was a
collision last evening not far from Weldon resulting in the death of two
soldiers, and the wounding of one negro severely if not fatally. We have
heard no further particulars, but presume this accounts for the
detention of the train. {Probably on the
