Stockholders' Meeting |
The Special Meeting of the
stockholders in the Wilmington, Charlotte & Rutherford Rail Road
Company, called to pass upon the amendments to the charter made by the
last Legislature, and for other purposes, convened in the Court House
in this place at 10 o'clock this (Thursday) morning, March 28th. |
The meeting was organized by
calling Walter F. Teak, Esq., of Richmond county, to the Chair, and
appointing Wm. L. Pitts, of Wilmington, Secretary. |
Dr. Neill McNair, of Richmond,
and C. C. Henderson, Esq., of Lincoln, were appointed a committee to
verify proxies, and ascertain the amount of stock represented. There
is a a very full attendance. |
The committee reported 14,483
shares represented in person or by proxy. |
The charter as amended, was ominously
adopted. |
The meeting adjourned sine die
at 12 o'clock M. |
The stockholders will have an
excursion down the river this afternoon on board the Company's steamer
Clarendon. |
We are requested to say that
the official proceedings will be handed in for publication to-morrow. |
