Whereas, The present charges
for transportation of Grain and Flour are unusually low, while the
cost of moving freight is much increased by the high prices of all
materials necessary to maintain Trains and Roadway, therefore |
Resolved, That on and
after the 10th day of March next; the charge on Grain per bushel shall
be fourteen (14) cents for 133 miles and over, -- ten (10) cents for
seventy five to eighty miles, and all other distances to bear the same
proportion. |
On Flour, per barrel, the
charge will be seventy-five cents for 133 miles and over; fifty cents
for seventy five to eighty miles, and for other distances, to bear the
same proportion -- with corresponding increase on the Tarborough
branch. |

Directors of Wilmington & Weldon Rail Road Co., this 24th
February, 1862. |
