The Augusta papers of the 29th
ultimo, came to hand yesterday. The Constitutionalist, in its
"Situation" article, says ***** |
A raiding party struck the
Waynesboro railroad {Augusta & Savannah RR}
at Waynesboro', destroying the depot and a train of freight cars. *****
We are informed that quite a handsome supply of raiment and silver plate
was consumed with the captured train. ***** |
There has been no enemy within
twelve miles of the Georgia railroad, and the trains will resume their
regular schedule. ***** |
