No Gas |
Our town {Charlotte,
N. C.} has been in almost complete darkness for the past few
nights in consequence of having no gas. The Railroads will not haul
the rosin to make gas with, and consequently Mr. Waterhouse can do
nothing towards giving us light. Cannot our people do something, by
petition or otherwise, to induce the Railroad officers to send the
rosin along. Tallow can't be had to make candles, and consequently
many houses are left in almost total darkness. We understand the blame
for not transporting the rosin rests with the S. C. and Wilmington
& Manchester Roads. |
