Change of Schedule |
On and after Saturday, the 12th of April,
1862, the passenger trains of the Southern {(of
Mississippi)} Rail Road Company will leave
Vicksburg and Meridian and arrive at those places daily according to
the following schedule: |
Leave Vicksburg going East at 2:30 P. M. |
Leave Jackson Junction going East at 6:00 P. M. |
Arrive Meridian at 11:45 P. M. |
Leave Meridian coming West at 12:30 A. M. |
Arrive Jackson Junction 6:20 A. M. |
Arrive Vicksburg 10:00 A. M. |

The Southern Rail Road at Jackson Junction
connects with the New Orleans, Jackson & Great Northern Rail Road
for New Orleans, and all points North via the Mississippi Central Rail
Road. |
At Meridian connects with the Mobile &
Ohio rail road for Mobile and all points North of Meridian, also with
the Selma and Montgomery, via Mobile and by Stage Line. |
At Vicksburg connects with the Vicksburg,
Shreveport & Texas Rail Road, now completed 75 miles to Monroe,
Louisiana, and from thence by stage to Shreveport. |
Through Freight trains will leave
Vicksburg for Meridian daily. |
Way Freight Trains will leave Vicksburg
every Wednesday until further notice. |
If a passenger getting on the cars without
procuring a ticket from the station where the Company is prepared to
sell them, will be charged Ten Cents extra fro the First station, and
Five cents extra for every station thereafter to the place of
stopping. |
The above schedule will
be complied with and all passenger and freight will be carried as far
as the conditions of the Road, the safety of the public, and the
ability of the Company will justify, But for any failures or omissions
to comply therewith or to carry any freight which may be hauled to any
Depot for transportation on the Rail Road, the Company will not hold
itself responsible. |
