Special Dispatch from the Mississippian |
A Special Dispatch to the Mississippian
gives the following as the names of the Soldiers who were killed by
the accident on the Southern {of Mississippi} Rail
Road day before yesterday: G. W. Etheridge, H. C. McCartney, J. J.
Miles -- All of company G, 35th Mississippi Volunteers; Richard
Lowery, Company I, 30th Alabama Volunteers; James L. Andrews of
Vernon, Mississippi, Company A, Withers Artillery, Mississippi
Volunteers; And Forty-One others were wounded, some it is thought
mortally. Lieutenant-Colonel Kearney of Vernon, Mississippi, and a
member of the 18th Mississippi Volunteers had one of his arms broken
in Two Places. The killed and wounded are at Edwards Depot some
Thirteen miles West of Jackson. |
