Louisville, Kentucky, August 20th, 1861 |
The travel on the Southern Rail Road {the
Louisville & Nashville RR} is immense. The trains continue
to arrive and depart regularly. It is understood that an order from
the War Department is on its way here in the hands of an Officer,
authorized to execute it, suspending Telegraph Communication with the
South. The Managers of the Line from Louisville South refuse to
suspend until their lines shall be forcibly or authoritatively closed
by the Government, which will probably be done by the close of the
week. |
