We had the pleasure of meeting the other
day with Col. W. J. Hutchings, president of the {Houston
&} Texas Central
railroad. We learn from him that the affairs of that road are now
reduced to a most economical basis and that it will be kept running
tri-weekly. We are also pleased to learn that both the Galveston,
Houston & Henderson and the Harrisburg {Buffalo
Bayou, Brazos & Colorado} railroad, are so managed
that travel will be uninterrupted during the war. The roads by their
present trips are enabled to accommodate all the freight and travel. |
