Reserve Camps
We learn from the Austin Gazette that Gen. Clark has selected Millican's, the terminus of the Houston {& Texas} Central Railroad, and Victoria {San Antonio & Mexican Gulf RR}, as the points for the location of the reserve camps. One thousand men will be stationed at each camp, where they will be mustered into the service of the Confederate States to serve during the war, unless sooner discharged. This force will be infantry exclusively, and will be admirably situated to repel any invasion of the coast.
