We learn from the West Tennessee Whig that
the new machine shop of the Mobile & Ohio railroad, located at
Jackson, Tennessee, is doing a large amount of useful work. The Whig
learns that the president and superintendent design such an extension
of the facilities in this shop since being cut off from the north that
they will be able to do all their own work there, even their
locomotives. If this should be done, the Whig says that the shop will
employ from three to four hundred hands. |
