Heavy Grading |
The Georgia Clipper is informed that the
grading through the plantation of Judge M. H. Welborn, three miles
from Warrenton, on the Macon and Warrenton Railroad {a
branch of the Georgia RR} is by a far the heavy grading in the
State -- the excavation in one instance being forty two feet, and one
of the embankments being nearly forty feet. This road when completed,
will be almost an air line -- the variations between Warrenton and
Sparta not exceeding a half mile. The first four miles out of
Warrenton will be perfectly straight. The entire route to Sparta is
under contract and the work progressing. |
