Extension of the Main Trunk |

It will be seen that the President of the
Atlantic & Gulf Railroad advertises for proposals to grade the
extension from Bainbridge, seventy-four miles, into the State of
Alabama. This looks like pushing things ahead, and as the stock bids
fair, when the road is completed, to rank among the best in the South,
planters who have spare hands will here find profitable employment.
Should the enemy land on our coast, there will be no lack of bidders
for the contracts. |
