The Tribune learns from
officers on the Mobile & Ohio Rail Road that the train between
Tupelo and Okolona was fired into on Monday evening by the
Abolitionists -- "Nobody hurt," and the train proceeded on
to Okolona, where the latter place was immediately evacuated and
everything removed to Egypt. Saltillo was taken on Monday morning and
Pontotoc, below there, at eleven o'clock, by 2,500 Abolitionists, who
are making a raid through that country. |
