Oglethorpe Light Infantry, Company B |
The following is the muster roll of the Oglethorpe
Light Infantry, Company B, who leave this morning for Fort
Pulaski: |
Captain -- F. W. Sims |
***** |
The Oglethorpes have been for some time encamped
on the parade ground, during which time they have made great
proficiency in drill, and now, with their full ranks and thorough
equipment compare favorably with the oldest volunteer corps of the
city. In our friend and confrere, Capt. Sims, they have a
gallant and efficient officer, who is heartily attached to his
company, and proud of the honored name it bears. Should an
opportunity present, we feel confident that the Oglethorpes
will not only preserve the honor of the corps, but add another
laurel to the chaplet so nobly won by their comrades on the Plains
of Manassas. |
