At a meeting of a portion of
the employees of the Central Railroad, held yesterday, for the purpose
of organizing a company for the defence of the Central Railroad,
appurtenances, &c., under the name of the "Georgia Central Railroad
Guard," and authorized by Order No. 16, dates Milledgeville, July 17th,
1863, and signed Henry C. Wayne, Adjutant and Inspector General, a
company of fifty-six men was organized by the election of the following
officers: |
