Accident on the Albany
{Atlantic} & Gulf Road |
We learn that the locomotive
attached to the down train on the Albany &
Gulf Railroad was thrown from the track on Monday last, by running over
a cow. The accident happened a short distance this side of Station
number eight. We are informed that the engine was badly damaged, two
cars broken up and several cars thrown off the track. No lives were
lost, but two of the firemen were severely injured one of whom, it is
supposed, will not recover. One of the injured firemen was a German and
named Henry. A little boy, who was on the train, was slightly injured. |
