Detention of the Cars |
The train on the Savannah,
Albany & Gulf Railroad, due here on yesterday morning, did not arrive,
owing to a break in the trestle work this side of the bridge over the
Altamaha. The workmen repairing a defective bend had removed the string
pieces, when the bent fell against two others, knocking them down, which
prevented the cars from passing over. It will require a day or two to
repair the track. In the mean time, there will be no interruption of the
travel over the road. |
