Change of Rates |
The Press of Savannah feel
that they have borne long enough the extraordinary inflation of prices,
as regards both labor and material, without an effort to meet it by a
correspondent increase in their own charges. Nearly every article used
in the printing of a newspaper has gone up several hundred per cent,
whilst, unlike all other men of business, we have adhered, with
serious detriment to ourselves, to our old tariff of rates. The public
cannot expect further sacrifice on our part, and we therefore, announce
that on and after the first day of January, 1863, the following will be
observed as the schedule of prices at our respective offices. |
