The Southern Express Company |
Our readers will be pleased to
learn by reference to our advertising columns that this old and reliable
institution has affected arrangements over the Alabama & Mississippi
Rivers Railroad, thereby placing their friends on the line of that
thereby placing their friends on the line of that road and other Western
roads in direct communication, by express with all the principal and
intermediate points in the Confederacy, through the services of their
experienced messengers. |
The advantages of this company
have rendered it an indispensable auxiliary to the Government
department, while to our soldiers in the field this channel has offered
transmission for the many little gifts, &c., from home that would
otherwise have been denied them. To our merchants, also in the
conveyance of freight, &c., the "through line" will supply the
deficiency that has heretofore existed from lack of transportation. |
