Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad |
This road is now in running
order its entire length, thanks to the herculean efforts of Col. E. W.
Cole, its able and accomplished Superintendent. Had our military kept
pace with Col. Cole, we would now be in daily intercourse with our
capital, and its down-trodden in habitants would be free once more. As
it is we are only able to go within seventeen miles of Nashville (Lavergne).
From preparations that we hear of, we hope soon to chronicle the fact
that Nashville is in our possession again. |
